Join a leading organization in the oil and gas industry as a Senior Safety and Loss Prevention Engineer, where your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing safety measures and loss prevention strategies.
Role Overview
Develop safety and loss prevention deliverables and studies, ensuring technical accuracy and timely issuance.
Support the preparation, review, and development of safety engineering documentation in line with Group Technical Standards.
Assist in risk management development to ensure risks are reduced to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).
Identify and write specifications for loss prevention aspects applicable to company products.
Utilize software for analyses, calculations, and design aids (e.g., PHAST).
Design fire and gas detection, firefighting, and safety systems on FPSO and/or turret.
Perform detailed design of all loss prevention systems, including equipment specifications and safety plans.
Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, and other safety assessments.
Monitor and review internal documentation related to loss prevention systems.
Conduct safety and risk engineering in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Address queries from clients, contractors, and internal departments regarding hazard management.
Prepare formal responses to comments from clients and classification societies on technical documents.
Contribute to internal meetings discussing safety systems and equipment.
Identify environmental requirements in design and apply Human Factors Engineering criteria.
Skills & Qualifications
FPSO expertise: Strong knowledge of Floating Production Storage and Offloading systems.
Analytical Skills: Proficient in quantitative risk assessment (QRA) and fire & explosion risk analysis (FERA).
Software Proficiency: Experience with PHAST or similar analytical tools.
Technical Documentation: Ability to prepare detailed safety engineering documentation.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with applicable legislation, standards, and codes in safety engineering.
Education & Experience
Bachelor or Master Degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Risk Engineering, Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the oil and gas industry.
