We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer with experience in Roadway design and team leading, to join our ambitious and experienced Linear Infrastructures team. We are working on stages as early as feasibility studies up to detailed designs on a wide range of projects, either as standalone linear infrastructures team or as part of multidisciplinary teams. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our office has an established track record of successfully delivering Linear Infrastructures designs (Roadways and Railways) for many years, throughout the USA and Australia not to mention Canada or Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team. This is a key role within the Europe Global Delivery Center (Poland/Spain) Linear Infrastructure team in Madrid.
Here is what you will do:
Serves as a Highway lead engineer on mid- to large size projects supported by EC.
Makes day-to-day decisions for a technical team, integrating resources from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India…)
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts and conducts complex value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials, construction techniques.
Categorizes packages of work to be done by EC, elaborates project execution plans and in combination with internal clients defines the delivery strategy, including composition of design teams.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others. Approves and signs off on work.
Accountable for the results of the team and adherence to agreed upon budget for a specific package of work.
Delivers effective communication inclusive of internal clients and team members to clarify expectations and requirements.
Awareness and application of highway/railway engineering standards, project specifications, evaluation of design options and design decision making, understanding of stage gated multidisciplinary design development process and understanding of impacts of design decisions on constructability, operation and maintenance of a Linear Infrastructure.
Responsible for leading small to large design teams working for internal clients, integrating resources from different EC offices (Spain, Poland, India, etc.)
Trains, mentors and evaluates less experienced staff (within the Europe EC group or other Delivery Centers).
QualificationsHere’s what we’re looking for:
Proven track record of working on Highways designs and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams (+10 years).
Team management experience (+3 years)
Experience working with international regulations and standards.
Proficient in various software packages for geometric design of linear infrastructures such as: OPENROADS, CIVIL 3D, 12D, etc.
Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.
Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably.
Fluent in English (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering
US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
