**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking an experienced Senior **Restoration Ecologist/ Project Manager** to join our Natural Resource team in Southern California. This hybrid position will be based out of our San Diego, CA office.
The primary role of the Senior Restoration Ecologist/Project Manager will be overseeing the management of restoration projects of various sizes, setting expectations for project teams, ensuring high-quality project deliverables, maintaining positive client relationships, identifying and leading business development opportunities. The Senior Restoration Ecologist/Project Manager will possess technical expertise in ecological restoration and overseeing planning and implementation restoration projects including, but not limited, to conservation and habitat management plans, restoration planning and site-specific design, implementing restoration and long-term maintenance and monitoring programs, developing appropriate performance monitoring methods, required project reporting, developing adaptive management strategy, and supporting clients to achieve successful project results and regulatory approval. It is expected that within a period of several months, the Senior Restoration Ecologist/Project Manager will take on responsibility for supervising teams of restoration ecologists and other natural resources-focused staff, including acting as a direct supervisor of team leaders.
**Specific duties and responsibilities may include:**
+ Provides senior oversight and guidance for teams preparing large, complex restoration and natural resources-focused documents such as Habitat Restoration Plans, Habitat Management and Mitigation Plans, Weed Control Plans, Special-status Plant Restoration Plans, etc.
+ Acts as a direct point of contact with key clients and represents clients in communications/negotiations with resource agencies.
+ May act as a Senior Project Manager, Project Director, or Program/Contract Manager for key projects/programs and clients.
+ Plans for and oversees successful execution of risk and safety management, budget planning, scope management, accounting updates, client progress reports, and regular invoicing.
+ Leads preparation of scope/cost proposals for a variety of clients and project types.
+ Supervises teams of restoration ecologists and other natural resources-focused staff, including acting as a direct supervisor of team leaders.
+ Provides leadership in career development, mentoring, and growth of technical and project management staff.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology or related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Watershed Planning, Natural Resource Management, Hydrology).
+ 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in a restoration related field with an emphasis on project management.
+ Valid U.S Driver's license is required for this role.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 15+ years of professional restoration experience in a related field,
+ 10+ years' experience in project management experience in consulting.
+ A strong background in restoration ecology and ecological processes, as well as experience implementing complex restoration projects and programs.
+ Experience in California and southwest U.S., including knowledge of native and non-native flora.
+ Knowledge of major state and federal agencies (e.g., USACE, USFWS, BLM, BOR, CDFW, RWQCB, and CCC) and major regulatory frameworks (e.g., NEPA, CEQA, ESA, CESA, CFGC, CWA and CCA).
+ Strong technical writing ability and experience completing Habitat Restoration Maintenance and Monitoring Reports and Mitigation and Monitoring Plans.
+ The ability to work independently and as well as lead teams.
+ Be an innovative and a problem solver.
+ Business development experience and proven ability to play a lead role in successful marketing and proposal efforts.
+ Excellent communication skills.
**Additional Information**
+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $160,000.00.
