Senior Resident Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Resident Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will get to lead and oversee all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

Leading the construction management team and overseeing the daily operations on-site to ensure smooth project execution.Managing all aspects of project administration, including budget control, scheduling, and quality assurance.Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure adherence to design, technical specifications, and project goals.Ensuring all health, safety, and environmental regulations are strictly adhered to during the construction process.Reviewing and approving technical submittals, shop drawings, and other documentation.Overseeing the project’s progress, addressing issues or delays, and implementing corrective actions as needed.Reporting on project status to senior management and stakeholders, including any potential risks or concerns.Ensuring effective communication among the project team, clients, and stakeholders.Implementing and ensuring compliance with public authority procedures and local regulations.Managing project personnel and providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring coordination and smooth operation.Overseeing the quality assurance and quality control aspects of the project to guarantee high standards.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university, with professional qualifications from a recognized international institution. The candidate must be chartered/licensed from an international engineering society (ICE, PE, etc.), with proof of active involvement in such societies.Minimum 20 years of demonstrable experience, with at least 12 years in a managerial or technical lead capacity, overseeing construction management, project administration, and supervision of similar infrastructure projects (including sewerage, surface & ground water networks).Proven track record of delivering fast-track projects and demonstrating proactive leadership.Membership in an accredited Project Management Institution would be advantageous. Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom or another recognized institution is required.Experience managing health & safety and environmental protection aspects in the construction of similar surface and ground water networks.Previous experience in managing open-cut and micro-tunneling projects for surface and ground water networks under Design & Build contracts within urban environments.Strong knowledge of international construction/contract law, contract administration procedures, and the ability to interpret statutes, codes, ordinances, and regulations.Technical and financial proposal evaluation experience, including solving construction-related issues and deploying technology to improve project delivery.Excellent leadership skills to manage a project management team with diverse technical expertise and deliver results under fast-track conditions.Ability to make key decisions, prioritize tasks, and manage team responsibilities to ensure the project's success.Fluent in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills, including technical report writing and clear verbal communication.Strong leadership to motivate and lead a multidisciplinary technical team and staff in a consultant role within a Design & Build project environment.Proficiency in computer skills and relevant software tools.Must be MME certified.

Expertise in project risk management and the ability to implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks.Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.Knowledge of local regulations, city permitting processes, and the ability to liaise with public authorities effectively.Strong understanding of cost control, including the ability to monitor budgets and implement strategies for cost savings without compromising quality.Experience with advanced construction technology such as BIM (Building Information Modeling) or similar tools to improve project outcomes.A collaborative approach to working with other project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and cooperation throughout the project lifecycle.
