Position Description

Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate all receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming shipments.  Develop and implement efficient receiving procedures and workflows to optimize productivity and minimize errors.  Monitor and track receiving performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.  Manage and prioritize daily receiving tasks, ensuring that urgent deliveries are processed promptly. Provide leadership, guidance, and training to receiving staff, ensuring they are proficient in their roles.  Supervise and evaluate the performance of receiving staff, providing feedback and coaching as needed.  Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication. Schedule and assign work to receiving team members Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the inventory management system (e.g., SAP, Oracle).  Investigate and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, delivery documents, and received materials.  Conduct regular audits of receiving records to ensure accuracy and compliance.  Work closely with the inventory control team to ensure data alignment. Ensure that all incoming materials are inspected for quality and compliance with specifications.  Coordinate with quality control personnel to resolve any quality issues or discrepancies. 

Qualification Requirements:

bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications in warehousing, logistics, or materials management. Proven track record of managing receiving teams and processes.  Extensive experience with inventory management systems and software. Demonstrated experience in a heavy industrial environment, ideally within the mining sector 

Experience and Skills Requirements:

Significant experience (5+ years) in warehouse receiving, with a strong focus on supervisory roles  Familiarity with mining equipment, materials, and supplies. Experience working with heavy machinery and large-scale deliveries. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures specific to mining operations Strong technical skills and background (mechanical, electrical, etc.) Strong motivational and empowerment skills in the team Strong communication skills: fluent French and English speaking, writing and reading. Knowledge of Lingala and Swahili is an addition to the profile Strong relationship and management skills Excellent computer skills
