In the role of Senior Rail Transit Engineer, we'll count on you to:Lead teams on a variety of transportation planning and engineering projectsAssist clients in the day-to-day project management activities of design, funding, construction and project control related to transit projectsDevelop work scopes and negotiate additional services contracts and contract changes for clients; coordinate and supervise engineering design activitiesManage planning, engineering, and architectural activities related to the design and construction or modification of transit infrastructure and facilities, including bus rapid transit, transit centers, maintenance facilities, park rides, electric bus infrastructure, and bus stop amenitiesPlan, organize, and manage capital project scopes, schedules, and budgetsCoordinate with governmental and private agencies (stakeholders, cities, counties, DOT, utility companies, etc.) in the design and construction of transit projectsParticipate in reviews and concept/design meetings with various clients and partnersCoordinate interdisciplinary review of documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesCoordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to complete the documents on schedule and within budgetIndependently coordinate the work of professional staff and balance the team throughout the entire project's developmentTrack the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate/adjust the work efforts with teams to ensure that work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon scheduleAttend client meetings and must have the ability to present a design approach for technical discussionImplement QA/QC proceduresPerform other design/engineering tasks as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

PMP designation5 or more years in the transit industry managing design and construction of capital projects of increasingly responsible experience, including bus rapid transit specifically and other transit infrastructureExperience with designing transit facilities such as bus rapid transit, transit stations, parks and rides, transit centers, and operations and maintenance facilitiesComputer skills including ArcGIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD/Civil 3DExperience with state departments of transportationExperience with the federal transit administration

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree10 years experience in railway engineering and managing complex multidisciplinary railway projects Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Proficient with MicroStation, OpenRail Designer/OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD and Civil3DSkilled in technical writing, communicating and presenting to clients and the public Demonstrated ability to lead a team on railway projects Should be familiar with water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
