**Description** SAIC is seeking a **Senior Radar Engineer** to join our STARS team in Huntsville, AL. The senior-level candidate is responsible for analyzing radar signal data, issue root cause identification and resolution, algorithm development, and presentation of results for technical briefings to leadership. The candidate should be a self-starter and be able to operate with minimal supervision. **Key Responsibilities:** + Perform system-level analysis and simulations to evaluate radar performance and ensure models match deployed baseline performance. + Implement signal processing algorithms for radar applications, including target detection, tracking, and classification. + Conduct testing and validation of radar simulation algorithms in a Models and Simulation environment. + Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to radar system algorithms. + Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports. + Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in radar technology to ensure accuracy of Models and Simulations. **Qualifications** **Required Education and Experience:** + Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree. **Required Clearance:** + An Interim Secret Clearance is required prior to employment; a Secret Security Clearance is required to maintain employment. **Required Skills:** + Understanding of radar signal and data processing. + MATLAB knowledge and experience. + Experience with root cause analysis of strategic radar systems and interoperability. + LINUX knowledge and experience. **Desired Skills:** + PERL script knowledge and experience. + Familiarity with X-band radars. + Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) pre- and post-test analysis activities and procedures.
