What this job involves:
We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our team in RAK, providing expert technical and commercial support across all project phases. This role requires a qualified engineer with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, combined with strong commercial acumen to manage costs, contracts, and procurement activities from inception to completion.
Note: This role requires post-contract deployment in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) for approximately 50% of the time.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Pre-Contract Duties
Cost Planning & EstimationPrepare detailed MEP cost estimates and budgets for mechanical and electrical systems.Develop cost models and benchmarking data for various building types and MEP installations.Tender & Procurement ManagementPrepare comprehensive MEP tender documentation, specifications, and bills of quantities.Evaluate and analyze MEP contractor submissions and technical proposals.Technical AdvisoryReview MEP design proposals for constructability and cost implications.Post-Contract Duties
Contract AdministrationAdminister MEP contracts and manage contractor relationships.Attend site visits and project meetings in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) as required, with an expectation of being based on-site in RAK approximately 50% of the time during the post-contract phase.Cost Control & ReportingMaintain detailed cost control systems for MEP works.Prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts.Identify and report cost risks and opportunities.Manage MEP project budgets and expenditure tracking.Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
CostX measurement software or similar– Advanced proficiency in digital takeoff and measurement.Advanced Microsoft Excel and project management software.Familiarity with BIM software and MEP modeling tools.Experience with cost databases and benchmarking tools.Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.Minimum 10-12 years of quantity surveying experience with a focus on MEP systems.Minimum 3 years in a senior QS role managing complex MEP projects.Demonstrated experience in both pre-contract and post-contract activities.Experience with projects valued at AED500m+ with significant MEP components.Location:
