The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead cost management delivery on medium to large projects, acting as the primary commercial contact for clients. The role requires strong technical ability, leadership of junior staff, and the capability to manage complex pre‑ and post‑contract activities while ensuring high-quality delivery.

Your role

Lead full pre‑contract and post‑contract cost management servicesDevelop detailed cost plans, estimates and procurement strategiesManage complex tendering processes and undertake negotiationsLead change control, risk management, cost assurance and reportingProvide strategic commercial advice to clients and senior stakeholdersLead value engineering and cost optimisation workshopsOversee valuations, financial statements and final accountsManage multiple projects or major packages concurrentlyMentor, coach and support QS and AQS colleaguesContribute to bids, proposals and business development initiativesEnsure compliance with internal governance and professional standardsWork closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and to provide expert advice on cost-related issues.About you

Degree in Quantity Surveying; chartership (RICS) desirableBased in the Manchester office 3 days a weekExtensive experience delivering cost management servicesStrong technical capability and understanding of wider project lifecycleProven experience interfacing directly with clientsAbility to manage and mentor junior staffExcellent communication and problem-solving skills
