As a Lead Quantity Surveyor at Worley, you will play a pivotal role in validating installed quantities in the field and ensuring accurate tracking of materials, progress, and cost performance across major construction projects. This role combines hands-on field verification with strong analytical oversight to support cost control, reporting, and earned value measurement. You will help Worley deliver on its purpose of creating a more sustainable world by ensuring transparency, accuracy, and accountability in the construction process—ultimately supporting safe, efficient, and sustainable project outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and provide guidance to the Quantity Survey team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and consistency in measurement and reporting.
Validate installed quantities—including steel, concrete, piping, equipment, electrical bulks, and other commodities—against progress claims in the field.
Maintain clear, detailed, and accurate records of installed work to support progress verification, billing accuracy, and earned value analysis.
Identify, document, and communicate variances in installed quantities to stakeholders to ensure alignment and informed decision-making.
Collaborate closely with Construction, Project Controls, and field supervision teams to support cost and schedule performance monitoring.
Act as a senior advisor, assigning activities to team members and providing ongoing guidance to ensure adherence to best practices.
Promote safe work practices, championing Worley’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence in every aspect of field execution.
Prepare and deliver reports, proposals, and presentations that clearly inform and influence key project stakeholders.
Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement in systems, tools, and processes used to measure, analyze, and report project progress.
*Qualifications / Skill SetUniversity degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant field experience may also be considered.
Significant field experience, ideally with prior responsibility as a construction foreman, superintendent, or similar leadership role, with a strong understanding of site operations and construction practices.
Advanced technical expertise in measuring and validating installed quantities across multiple construction disciplines such as structural steel, concrete, piping, and electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of cost control methodologies, earned value measurement, and project progress reporting.
Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience supervising or guiding teams in a project environment.
Proven ability to communicate complex information clearly through written reports, presentations, and direct stakeholder engagement.
Skilled in applying and troubleshooting systems, processes, and tools used in construction quantity tracking and reporting.
