Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Senior Quantitative Financial Analyst (Multiple openings) in Charlotte, NC.
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversees creation and usage of complex models, analysis and forecasts involving application of financial, econometric and statistical methods. The business area assigned can concern a variety of products or services and require analysis of one or more of credit, pricing, market, and liquidity risks. Works independently and provides guidance to more junior team members on projects. Works with multiple business lines, performing data analysis, testing, documentation, benchmarking, creation and coding of models, implementation testing verification and monitoring. Deliverables include written reports and analysis, identification of risk and quantitative forecasting, and presentations/communication of the outcomes to the stakeholders.
Specific duties include:
Perform exploratory data analysis, using SAS, R and Python programs, to carry out data inspections, data cleaning, data transformations, multivariate analysis and descriptive analysis on the data used by the models being created, tested or reviewed.Perform independent testing of models and tools (programs) being reviewed (benchmark, outcome analysis, sensitivity analysis), using SAS, R and Python programming codes to replicate the programs’ logic, analyze programs’ output and assess the effectiveness of the programs to their respective objectives.Communicate and present the model framework, business usage, performance, testing of advanced statistical models and potential findings & issues to stakeholders. Create model development or validate documentation including presentations, written reports, model or reporting code documentation, business requirements, monitoring reports and related code, and procedures.Perform review of documents, which include development documentation, monitoring plan and reports, implementation plan and testing framework to ensure that the documents are comprehensive, accurate and follow regulatory guidelines.Analyze the model methodology framework and business usageCreate, implement, test models for the financial industry using programming skills such as Python, R, SAS etc.Work with predictive Modeling (regression analysis, time series forecasting), Machine Learning (SVM, Random Forest), Exploratory Analysis, Multivariate Testing, Proficient in statistics concepts (Hypothesis Testing, probability theories) to create the forecasting model using knowledge in Finance, statistics and Mathematics.Guide junior quantitative model analysts on model development, testing, documentation and codes.Address the findings or issues of the model raised by Validation group or regulatory requirements.Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics & Statistics and 2 years of experience performing quantitative model research, development, and validation.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Creating, implementing, testing, and documenting models for the financial industry using programming skills including Python and R, and advanced statistical/ mathematical modeling knowledge. 2) Undertaking model validation tests/methodologies through data compilation, qualitative analysis and knowledge of Probability, Stochastic Calculus, Regressions, and Machine learning. 3) Working with predictive Modeling (regression analysis, time series forecasting), A/B Testing, Machine Learning (SVM, Random Forest), Exploratory Analysis, and Multivariate Testing. 4) Working with the following analytical tools: Python (NumPy, Pandas, Seaborn, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib), SQL, R, SAS, Excel, LaTex. 5) Independent testing of model including benchmarking, outcome analysis, and sensitivity check under comprehensive Capital Analysis Review (CCAR). Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master’s program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.
