JOB TITLE: Senior Quality Manager (Automotive)
The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for driving quality improvement and facilitating a culture of high-quality standards. Under your leadership, you will drive change initiatives towards proactive quality management and continuous improvement. By understanding the customer demands and requirements, you will lead the site in exceeding expectations for quality in customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the distressed and at-risk inventory process plus raw material approvals.Collaborate with site departments and leadership to ensure that both quality standards and culture remain a priority throughout the entire end-to-end process.Operational Excellence:
Develop annual quality goals and execute programs to accomplish these goals.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase quality metrics expectations.As a member of the Regional Quality Steering Team, represent quality for the site by communicating quality news, metrics, milestones, and continuous improvement projects aligned with business strategies and priorities.Coach and train site management and their respective teams regarding customer stakeholder expectations.Develop and implement site training and quality programs utilizing Kaizen (continuous improvement) methodology.Quality Excellence:
Cease any process or product delivery due to non-conformance (safety/regulatory issue, customer requirements, etc.).Immediately implement any corrective action to contain quality issues.Enforce the control plan per the customer requirements and standards.Rely on IATF-16949 automotive standards to lead your team in conducting quality investigations, audits and resulting corrective actions including supplier, customer, and internal concerns. Limited travel required to suppliers, customers, and other Axalta locations.Prepare and facilitate customer onsite meetings and audits.Maintain site quality certifications including IATF – 16949.Measure and report on all site quality metrics including supplier quality, internal quality, and customer complaints.Monitor Supplier Quality program and assist Procurement with supplier development.Facilitate prompt complaint management for both customers and suppliers utilizing problem solving techniques and tools.Platform maintenance:

Adhere to the highest of ethical standards and all regulatory, environmental, and Axalta processes.Cultivate a strong team culture by enhancing and building highly effective and collaborative cross-functional relationships throughout the business.Foster integrity and dependability in building relationships at all levels to help support change initiatives that help teams deliver value.Continuously identify ways to improve production by engaging with staff and encouraging new perspectives.Provide continuous training, coaching, and development of site personnel. Recognize growth opportunities for high-potential talent at the site and work with the leadership team to develop career paths that mentor employees.Capitalize on new knowledge when implementing best practices with a focus on standardization across Axalta’s entire organization.Represent the customer within the site and act accordingly to ensure that quality is integrated throughout the end-to-end manufacturing process.Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering related discipline required.Minimum 10 years’ industrial/manufacturing background targeting quality management and/or quality systems.Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience managing people.IATF 16949 tier 1 ‘supplier to Industry' quality audit alignment required.Automotive industry background strongly preferred.Customer-facing ownership specific to customer specific requirements/standards.Quality training such as Six Sigma or Second Party Lead Auditor Training.Working knowledge of IATF-16949 requirements combined with enrollment in IATF-16949 Auditor Lead training program (~1-week course).Strong knowledge of quality tools including FMEA, 8D, 5Why, PPAP, APQP, and Gage R&R.LEAN manufacturing knowledge a plus.Effective communication and people skills.Ability to influence and drive results.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.Positive mentoring style to effectively challenge work-related performance.Travel required: approx. 5%.Our Company:
