We are seeking a skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing, testing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages. Entering this domain positions you at the heart of IBM, where growth and innovation thrive. **Your role and responsibilities** As a key member of our dynamic team you will be designing better ways to identify potential weak spots, inefficiencies, and issues within software systems. This position will work closely with development teams and other engineers in the implementation and delivery of software products that meet rigorous quality standards, budgets, and timelines. You will play a key role by delivering quality functions for development teams within test driven framework. Your scope will include Test Plan Development, Test Case Execution, Automation Testing, Data Creation, API Validation and incorporating test automation in the CI/CD pipelines. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Software Development Expertise: Background in software development/testing, demonstrating expertise in programming languages such as Java. * Cloud Technology Proficiency: Basic knowledge of cloud-based technologies, showcasing some familiarity with modern cloud ecosystems and concepts used in them. * Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving and debugging, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions. Willingness to learn and improve. * Software Testing Expertise: Experience/knowledge in developing comprehensive test plans and executing test cases to ensure software products meet quality standards and requirements. * Automation Integration: Interest/knowledge in implementing and integrating test automation into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Proficiency with Java, optionally even Java EE/Jakarta EE experience - or experience with a similar framework, like Spring. Knowledge of JUnit, Maven, Git, Jenkins, and other commonly used Java libraries, including knowledge of Java internals. * Familiarity with cloud and container technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc. * Groovy, Python, and scripting in Linux, and Unix environments, Windows PS will also be useful.
