Job Title: Quality Engineer Job Description Provide Quality Engineering support and leadership for multiple fabrication operations teams. The role involves both proactive and reactive solutions to address quality issues affecting internal manufacturing processes, including weld, tube bend, laser cutting, hole piercing, paint, and injection mold. You will manage the quality program, employees, and assigned processes for all related aspects of these areas. Responsibilities + Support quality initiatives and programs as required. + Lead and support Quality Supervisors and Technicians on fabrication quality issues. + Participate or lead failure analysis, root cause, and corrective action investigations. + Develop, manage, and report on internal process quality metrics; identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead improvement initiatives. + Communicate process issues, problems, and concerns to Quality and Operations leadership. + Generate quality instructions and/or procedures as needed to contain quality issues or to assist with process validations. + Partner directly with Operations teams to improve the use of measurement systems. + Participate in new product launch teams and support Product Engineering on DFAM projects. + Conduct and/or support internal audits and product transfers as needed. + Support the Quality Lab in completing APQP, PPAP, and production measurement requests. + Perform process capability studies and DOE if required. Essential Skills + Experience with PPAP, root cause analysis, and quality engineering. + Expertise in weld manufacturing and leadership. + Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Operations, or related field; advanced degree preferred. + Five or more years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or equivalent field; weld experience preferred. + Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. + Strong process improvement skills, Control Plans, DOE, and print reading skills. + Experience with and knowledge of proper GD&T application to fabricated components. + Leadership experience with hourly and salaried subordinates. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in leading technicians in testing and inspection methods for fabrication quality processes. + Ability to read, interpret, and improve weld and tube bending prints. + Self-starter able to work independently without supervision. Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing environment with high technology-driven processes. The role involves working in both office and manufacturing environments, with most of the time spent on the floor. Some travel (<20%) is required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Benefits will be provided upon offer.
