Senior Quantity Surveyor (Senior QS) – Role Summary

Purpose:
Manage commercial contracts up to £5m+, ensuring profitable project delivery aligned with business goals. Lead contract negotiations, procurement, financial control, and dispute resolution for major projects, supporting project managers on smaller ones.

Key Responsibilities:

Negotiate contract terms pre- and post-tender

Provide commercial input during tendering

Manage multiple contracts, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs

Monitor project progress, costs, and cash flow

Lead contract reviews and client meetings

Oversee procurement and subcontractor accounts

Manage variations, claims, and final accounts

Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Project teams to mitigate risks and maximize profit

Requirements:

Degree and professional qualification (e.g., RICS) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

Senior-level experience in engineering, construction, or rail sectors

Strong communication and organizational skills

Full driving licence
