Senior QA EngineerWe’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to take ownership of the quality and consistency of our engineering documentation, with a particular focus on forensic engineering reports and first-pass design reviews.
This role is suited to someone with a strong technical background, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of persuasive writing. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our forensic reports are not only technically sound but also compelling and well-structured.
You’ll also conduct initial reviews of design documentation before it’s passed to senior engineers for certification, and play a pivotal role in mentoring and upskilling our engineering team. As part of our national QA backbone, you’ll help build our reputation for consistency and quality across both forensic and design engineering.
What are my accountabilities?
Review forensic engineering reports to ensure clarity, accuracy, and persuasive strength prior to issue.
Conduct first-pass reviews of design documentation before hand-over to senior engineers for final review and certification.
Assess the logical flow and strength of arguments presented in forensic reports, ensuring conclusions are well-supported and clearly communicated.
Collaborate with technical managers to refine report templates and documentation processes
Work with the Engineering Manager to identify skill gaps and deliver targeted training or mentoring.
Prepare and present informal training sessions for the engineering team as part of a continuous improvement framework.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering team.
About you
Minimum 10 years’ experience in forensic engineering, with a solid background in structural design engineering.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for producing persuasive, high-quality engineering reports
Demonstrated ability to critically assess both technical content and argumentative structure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to mentor and upskill engineering staff.
Familiarity with Australian engineering standards and documentation practices.
