Senior QA Engineer

About the Job Sr. QA Engineer Overview: This job is responsible for increasing and assuring the level of quality of PetSmart solutions and services by partnering with the business to validate the software under test meets the pre-determined acceptance criteria, by designing, writing, and executing manual and automated tests in a complex integrated environment to determine whether the product is ready to release and by contributing to QA engineering and testing best practices. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and design comprehensive test plans, test scenarios and test cases. Conduct thorough functional testing to confirm software functionality, identify defects, and ensure adherence to specifications. Investigate and report defects, track issues, and work closely with developers to ensure prompt resolution. Work with product stakeholders to identify and prioritize tests that could be automated to drive efficiency. Develop new automated test cases and enhance current test suite as new functionality is built. Run automated test suite and report the testing results to the stakeholders. Support Production deployments and critical manual and automated smoke testing. Ensures that automated test code adheres to PetSmart standards and participates in automation strategy and optimization efforts. Self-motivated and disciplined to meet deadlines with speed, accuracy, and professional attitude. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills. Collaborative and a team player. Ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner and work around obstacles to ensure project success. Must Have: Experience in Retail, or E-Commerce domain. RESTful web service APIs. Experienced in device testing using real devices, and simulators like browser stack. Expert level of experience automating web and mobile application across multiple devices and platforms using test automation tools and frameworks. (Example tool set: JMeter, Selenium, Appium, JMeter). Code Analysis/Review - Experience reviewing QA automation code. Test Management tools like, e.g.: QTest, HP ALM suite. Experienced in working on Jira, and Confluence. Experience with continuous integration tools like Cloudbees (Jenkins) experience. Languages: Experience in at least one programming language for Automation, preferably Java. Nice to Have: APIs and web application Performance testing. Languages: Python, Groovy. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience. 3-5 years of experience writing test code in multiple languages (Java, Python). Expert level of experience automating web and mobile application across multiple devices and platforms using test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, and JUnit/NUnit. Solid understanding of software testing practices and agile development. Works independently under minimal direction with strong work ethic. Effective communication skills and sense of teamwork and positive enthusiasm.
