As a Senior Purchasing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process by working closely with vendors to secure the best pricing available, writing purchase orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of parts. You will collaborate with the project management team to ensure all parts are procured effectively.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with vendors to negotiate and secure the best pricing.
+ Write and manage purchase orders using the YES PO system.
+ Ensure on-time delivery of parts and materials.
+ Work closely with the project management team to align procurement activities.
+ Obtain quotes from multiple vendors to ensure competitive pricing.
+ Collaborate with production leadership to close any procurement gaps.
+ Provide weekly updates on part procurement status.
Essential Skills
+ Proven expertise in procurement, supply chain, and purchasing.
+ Experience as a buyer in purchasing and planning.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
+ Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum of 3 years' procurement experience in a steel manufacturing environment.
+ Strong sense of urgency and commitment to superior customer service.
+ High school diploma or equivalent; a degree from a four-year college or university or related equivalent experience is preferred.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Advanced problem-solving capabilities.
+ PC proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment within a manufacturing company. You will be working in close collaboration with various teams to ensure smooth procurement operations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
