Senior Purchasing and Import/Export Logistics Specialist

Summary:

Manage the logistical strategy and flow of Services tools, consumable inventory, and support equipment with excellence to accomplish customer schedule, maintenance schedule, and cost management objectives. Executes service asset and inventory management strategies at local operations center

Logistics (30%)

Ensures logistical practicality and successful movement of tools and equipment to and from various Service CentersCoordinates inbound and outbound logistical operations including inventory management, and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products.Actively manages planning and communication flow to reduce inventory and shipping costsControls the commercial impact of the complete range of activities from sourcing, purchasing, and optimizing inventory levels.Administers an effective system that meets TDW’s inventory control needs through efficient transportation of component parts and/or finished goods.Executes reverse logistics procedures for returning assets and inventory parts to headquarters or suppliers

Inventory Control (20%)

Ensures that inventories are secure, properly identified and readily accessible to authorized personnel.Maintains controls over various types of inventories (e.g., raw materials, subassemblies, finished goods)Conducts physical cycle inventory counts and reconciles results with inventory records,Conduct analyses of inventory levels, and coordinates with production and sales requirements.Ensures that quantities of incoming and outgoing shipments are correctEstablishes emergency/alternative suppliers for machining/modification services and consumable inventory

Import/Export (30%)

− Administers the efficient and economical movement of goods (e.g., materials, products, equipment) across international borders in accordance with organizational policies and in compliance with relevant local, country, and international customs laws and processesPrepares, reviews, approves, and maintains files for import/export documents such as customs declarations, a PO (purchase order), packing list, commercial invoice, SLI (shippers’ letter of instruction), SED (shipper’s export declaration), BOL (bill of lading), AWB (airway bill), IC (import certificate), etc. required for the lawful completion of import/export activities.Ensures that commercial and sales invoices are accurate in accordance with physical shipment and customer’s SLI, quantities, value of goods, country of origin, and other regulatory requirements.Serves as an import/export liaison for international customers/subsidiaries, distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, intercompany finance, regulatory and import/export compliance functions.issuing and tracking of Intercompany Purchase Order

Purchasing (20%)

Conducting research on potential material or products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.Ensure all purchase requests are checked for compliance with TDW policies and procedures.Process procurement service requests and purchase requisitions in a timely manner − Issue, receive and invoice the purchases orders for requisitions of goods and services through AX systemTrack orders and ensure goods are received on timeWork with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirementsManage all communication with all vendors and track all orders and resolve any issues on sameIdentify procurement processes to be improved or made more efficient


Knowledge, skills & abilities required

Engineering, Technical, or Business Bachelor’s degree, preferred,High School Diploma and equivalent experience, required,At least 5 years of experience in logistics or planning, required,At least 5 years of experience in inventory management, required,At least 5 years of experience coordinating international shipments, preferred,At least 3 years of experience in the pipeline industry, preferred,Process improvement experience, such as 6 Sigma / Theory of Constraints methodologies, preferred,Proficient working with a computer and multiple database applications simultaneously,High propensity to take initiative and drive problem resolutionExcellent ability to prioritize tasks and execute,Ability to work with teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment,High degree of comfort working with team members located in other states and countries and utilizing Skype Video, IM, and conference calls,Proficient in English,Strong verbal and written communication skills,Intermediate-Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g. Pivot Tables/Charts, VLOOKUP, INDEX), preferred,Must be willing to carry a company cell phone and respond to after-hours and weekend calls,
