About the role:
The Senior Property Manager leads strategic property management for DFAT's Jakarta diplomatic compound, a large mixed-use facility approaching 10 years of age. This senior role oversees comprehensive property management while providing strategic direction for management of capital pipeline exceeding $2M per year and addressing significant future capital demands as thousands of assets reach end-of-useful-life over the next decade.
This role is critical to maintaining the Jakarta compound as a valuable asset in DFAT's network while ensuring operational excellence through the facility's second decade of operation. The Senior Property Manager will balance day-to-day operational needs with strategic asset stewardship to support Australia's diplomatic mission in Indonesia.
Main Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management - Serve as the primary relationship manager for DFAT at senior levels, maintaining strong partnerships with diplomatic stakeholders and providing strategic property updates.
Strategic Asset Management - Develop long-term asset planning strategies for the diplomatic compound, balancing diverse property needs across chancery, residences, and support facilities.
Financial Management - Oversee sophisticated financial planning for major capital works, managing multi-million dollar project portfolios while maintaining quality standards.
Maintenance Management - Direct preventative and reactive maintenance programs, establishing protocols to extend asset lifecycles and implementing best practices across the compound.
Project Management Oversight - Provide direction to the project management vertical handling complex capital works, ensuring alignment with strategic property objectives.
Soft Services Leadership - Direct cleaning, landscaping, pest control, and other support services, implementing quality assurance processes while balancing service delivery with budgetary constraints.
Administrative Oversight - Lead the administration vertical to ensure proper documentation, reporting, compliance protocols, and effective vendor management.
Team Leadership - Provide cohesive leadership across all five verticals (administration, maintenance, project management, soft services, and town planning/strategic asset management).
Capital Planning - Lead capital forecasting, portfolio optimization initiatives, and provide strategic recommendations for major infrastructure investments.
Quality Assurance - Develop and track KPIs for property performance, implement quality standards, and ensure consistent service delivery across all diplomatic facilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in property management, facilities management, or related fieldExtensive experience in property/facilities management for complex, large-scale facilitiesProven strategic planning abilities and long-term asset management experienceStrong financial acumen with budget management experience at the $2M+ levelDemonstrated success in leading multiple operational verticals within a property management contextExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsExperience working in diplomatic, government, or high-security environments preferredKnowledge of Australian building regulations and property management practicesMust be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 2 Security Clearance.What you can expect from us:
