Senior Property Accountant
Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to oversee the financial operations for a portfolio of multi-family residential communities. This role requires expertise in full-cycle accounting and team management, along with a proactive approach to maintaining financial accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities: • Manage and supervise team members involved in various accounting processes. • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for multiple entities within the portfolio. • Lead and streamline the month-end close process for assigned communities and teams. • Maintain detailed records for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals. • Monitor and support accounts payable and accounts receivable operations. • File state B& O and Sales & Use Tax reports in compliance with regulations. • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and bank statements. • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on projects such as budgeting, cash forecasting, audits, and tax preparation. • Ensure adherence to established accounting policies and procedures. • Identify and propose process improvements to enhance accounting workflows and efficiencies. The salary range for this position is $90k to $100k. Benefits available with this position include medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurances; participation in the company’s 401(k) plan with a match and 15 days of paid vacation, 5 days of paid sick leave and 9 paid holidays per calendar year. Requirements • Minimum of six years of property accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting tasks. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred. • Proven experience in residential property management accounting is essential. • Advanced proficiency in Yardi software is strongly preferred. • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. • Familiarity with onboarding and offboarding processes for properties. • Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage accounting teams effectively. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
