**Job Description**
**_This position supports a major hydroelectric project in New Brunswick and requires three weeks per month at the project office in Fredericton, NB. Travel and lodging expenses will be covered._**
We are looking for a **Senior Project Manager** to join our growing team working on large-scale hydroelectric and industrial projects. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and will be responsible for all project delivery activities, from planning and design through construction and commissioning, with a particular focus on hydroelectric structures, dams, power plants, hydraulic works, complex industrial infrastructure, as well as related systems and installations.
**Key responsibilities include:**
+ Lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams, including both on-site and remote resources, to ensure the delivery of all services, deliverables, and reports required by the client.
+ Demonstrate creativity, vision, and sound judgment to anticipate and resolve technical, project delivery, and client-related issues, whether routine or complex.
+ Define objectives, technical requirements, and the structure for large-scale programs and projects.
+ Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the company’s health and safety policies and quality management systems.
+ Manage and monitor contractual obligations for engineering projects of varying sizes and complexity.
+ Stay up to date on industry standards, codes, and practices and ensure their application across projects.
+ Oversee project management functions, including schedule, budget, risk management, quality assurance, and document control; monitor costs, schedules, and quality, implementing corrective actions as required.
+ Lead project meetings, ensure timely preparation and distribution of minutes, and ensure meetings are efficient and decision-making is effective.
+ Supervise disciplinary resources and/or contribute to the preparation of deliverables, including presentations, calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates related to hydroelectric works, industrial infrastructure, hydraulic structures, and mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary systems.
+ Monitor and control projects proactively; manage scope and changes in accordance with company standards and contractual requirements.
+ Supervise the preparation of deliverables for key project milestones, applying rigorous project development logic and clear, structured, and consistent communication.
+ Support commissioning, start-up, and project handover activities.
+ Act as a mentor and provide training to team members while identifying high-potential talent.
+ Collaborate with sector and regional leaders to ensure compliance with internal approval processes for service offerings and projects.
+ Work closely with clients to propose sustainable, long-term technical solutions.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience, ideally within an engineering consulting firm, in managing large-scale hydroelectric and complex industrial infrastructure projects.
+ Proven experience in securing and delivering projects in Canada, with a strong reputation in the hydroelectric and industrial sectors.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft software, including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
+ Availability and ability to travel across Canada.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong technical writing and communication abilities.
+ High attention to detail and strong sense of rigor.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree or PMP certification is an asset.
+ Over 20 years of progressive experience in hydroelectric and industrial projects, including dams, power plants, hydraulic structures, and related infrastructure.
+ Experience managing engineering services for at least three (3) projects with a CAPEX exceeding CAD 750 million.
+ Experience with hydroelectric facilities, existing (brownfield) sites, operational facilities, underwater concrete rehabilitation, and concrete affected by ASR (alkali-silica reaction) is an asset.
