Job Description:
**Job Overview**
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Aerospace and Defense Project Management Office (PMO).
The PMO team specializes in NPD projects management, collaborating cross functionally to ensure projects meet financial targets, delivery timelines, and customer expectations. Core responsibilities include developing project plans; driving efficient execution of projects/programs initiatives; identifying resource bottlenecks and coordinating with leadership to resolve them; and adhering to our project execution processes to ensure full-cycle project control and value delivery
Developing relationships and maintaining a high level of communication with cross-functional global teams will be critical to the role. Provide leadership and guidance to project managers for cohesive project delivery and achieving business benefits while leading some projects.
Travel domestically and internationally is possible up to 10% of the time.
**Job Requirements**
+ Provide leadership and guidance to project managers for cohesive project delivery and achieving business benefits.• Managing project processes, delivery targets, deadlines, and compliance. Tracking overall project performance and productivity• Addressing internal or external issues / impediments, ensuring smooth cross-functional communication (internal and/or external) and supervising team(s) of individual contributors and/or supervisor(s)• Project Monitoring & Course Correction: Regularly review key project progress, provide feedback to Project Managers (PjMs) to keep initiatives aligned with objectives, and maintain close communication with cross-functional leaders to identify high-level bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities. Lead the creation of action plans, monitor their implementation, and track results.• Key Project Leadership: Provide strategic guidance for critical projects (e.g., kick-offs) to ensure alignment with organizational goals.• Establish and lead project planning, reporting, and performance tracking with clear benchmarks.• Report project status to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic plans.
**Required Skills**
• Typically, a university degree with a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience in managing projects/programs with new product development objectives using the agile and/or waterfall stage-gate process
• Project Management experience leading cross functional teams of 20+ members.
• Previous experience working with engineering, manufacturing, operations and product management
• Problem-solving - knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem-solving appropriately to diverse situations.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (internal and external)
• Proven track record of successful product launches.
• Project Management Certification is highly desirable (e.g. PMI-ACP, PMP, PgMP)
• Experience with Planisware (MS Project) and using integrated project scheduling/management software
