Job Description
This Sr. Project Manager role leads large-scale, highly complex enterprise projects across IT, Finance, and Banking, ensuring delivery on time and within budget while maintaining strict adherence to Enterprise Project Management (EPM) standards and governance. The position drives end-to-end project execution, from business case definition and planning through implementation, remediation, and continuous improvement, while engaging Sr. leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve strategic business outcomes.
Responsibilities
Lead large-scale, highly complex enterprise projects, ensuring all milestones and key tasks are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with defined scope and quality standards.Ensure strict adherence to Enterprise Project Management (EPM) standards, frameworks, and governance protocols to maintain compliance and drive consistent, high-quality project execution.Manage remediation projects by facilitating root cause identification, developing corrective action plans, and driving execution to restore compliance, mitigate risk, and ensure long-term resolution.Partner with executive sponsors to define the business case, project objectives, scope, and deliverables in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization.Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, resource allocation, budgets, dependencies, and key milestones.Lead proactive risk and issue identification, assessment, and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.Oversee monitoring of project progress, tracking milestones, and ensuring adherence to established schedules, budgets, and performance targets.Own and deliver timely, comprehensive, and pragmatic communications on project status, risks, and issues to C-suite executives, department leaders, and key stakeholders to support informed decision-making.Lead cross-functional project teams, providing clear direction, leadership, and support while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.Serve as the project management subject matter expert, guiding teams on best practices, methodologies, and tools.Manage third-party vendors and partners, holding them accountable for achieving project tasks, milestones, and goals within agreed time, budget, and scope.Engage stakeholders to build strong relationships, understand their requirements, and translate feedback into actionable plans that address needs and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.Apply change management methodology to effectively manage project goals and objectives impacted by organizational or process changes.Identify stakeholders impacted by change, assess potential risks and downstream impacts, and develop targeted stakeholder engagement and communication plans to support effective change adoption.Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement by applying best practices, capturing lessons learned, and translating insights into actionable enhancements for future projects.Proactively identify, introduce, and apply new industry trends, emerging technologies, and project management methodologies within the project management organization.Utilize Clarity PPM to manage projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, time tracking, risks, issues, decisions, assumptions, and dependencies, ensuring accurate reporting and tracking.Use Microsoft Project or similar project management tools to plan, schedule, and monitor project activities and deliverables.Support transformation projects by aligning project objectives with strategic business goals and driving successful implementation across the enterprise.Essential Skills
10+ years of experience in a Sr. project management role within IT, Finance, and Banking environments.10+ years of proven experience managing large, complex, enterprise-wide IT and Finance project implementations.10+ years of hands-on experience using Microsoft Project or similar project management software tools.Demonstrated expertise in Enterprise Project Management (EPM) standards, frameworks, and governance.Strong experience leading transformation projects and large-scale change initiatives.Proven ability in root cause identification and remediation planning for complex issues and compliance gaps.Advanced skills in project planning, including defining milestones, timelines, budgets, dependencies, and resource plans.Demonstrated ability to engage and influence C-suite executives, department leaders, and key stakeholders through clear, concise, and pragmatic communication.Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing third-party vendors and partners in complex project environments.Strong risk and issue management skills, with the ability to anticipate, assess, and mitigate risks proactively.Proficiency in stakeholder collaboration, including gathering requirements, managing expectations, and translating feedback into actionable plans.Experience using a PPM system such as Clarity PPM (preferred) or another PPM tool for project tracking and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into practical project and process improvements.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or a master’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field, or a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in lieu of formal education.Demonstrated success and a proven track record in professional experience related to project management, including specific job functions, projects, or industries.Military service, professional experience, or life experience may substitute for formal education requirements where applicable.Experience with Clarity PPM as a primary project and portfolio management tool is preferred.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.Experience driving transformation projects across IT and Finance functions.Strong capability in capturing lessons learned and embedding best practices into future projects.Ability to stay current with new industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving project management methodologies and apply them within the organization.Work Environment
This position operates in a remote work environment aligned to East Coast time, providing flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with stakeholders and teams. Work is primarily performed using enterprise project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Clarity PPM, along with standard collaboration and communication platforms. The role involves frequent interaction with cross-functional teams and Sr. leadership in a virtual setting, with an emphasis on structured communication, clear documentation, and disciplined project governance. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $63.00 - $67.00/hr.
