We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions.  Reporting to the Head of PMO, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the initiation, planning, delivery and closure of (i) new product development projects – on time; to specification; to product cost; within planned budget and (ii) product improvement projects whether it be cost reduction or performance improvement. These projects will have small-medium size development teams (typically <20 engineers and scientists) and will also involve leadership of company-wide cross-functional teams. and will be located in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. **In this role, a typical day will look like** **:** + Lead development and cross-functional project teams + Develop and maintain an integrated schedule, product specification, product cost model, risk assessment, resource plan and budget + Lead the execution of the project including identification of risks and issues; problem solving; negotiate and ensure availability of resources and the development and tracking of project budget + Ensure project compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements + Capture the requirements and manage the expectation of key stakeholders + Conduct phase toll gate and monthly management reviews + Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives to improve Linx NPD process **The essential requirements of the job include:** + Ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously + Pro-active, relentless and excellent in solving cross functional problems by collaborating with functional leads in Product Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Marketing and Customer Services as well as Engineering. + The tenacity and persistence to do what it takes and find a way forward, to not be easily held up by obstacles, ensuring that roles and responsibilities are unmistakably understood and agreed upon by all + Technically capable – capable of understanding customer and product technologies + Strong motivational leadership with the ability to influence others without direct authority and the ability to instil a sense of urgency within the team + Champion the project, ensuring clarity of vision and effective communication with key stakeholders; using strong written and verbal communication skills + Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent work experience + Demonstrable product development experience with extensive cross-functional exposure in a relevant high-tech industry; with cross-functional project management experience + Demonstrated success in leading at least one significant new product development from conception to launch + Project Management qualification, e.g. APM is highly desirable **Other** + Full UK driving license + Some overseas travel may be required **Great Place to Work?
