The Senior Project Manager of Design is responsible for the standards, procurement and construction of data center facilities in North America.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the design of data center projects within North America with a combined valued between $50-70 million a yearDirect third party architectural and engineering teams in the design of data center projects in accordance with Iron Mountain standardsInterface with internal finance, sales, and operations teams to validate data center fit-out and build programsWork with outside parties such as developers, consultants, equipment manufacturers, construction managers, and third party project management firms in order to deliver projectsAssist in evaluation of potential data center acquisitions. Interface with outside consultants and Iron Mountain departments in evaluating opportunitiesProvide design and engineering oversight to include budget, schedule and overall product delivery on assigned critical infrastructure activities and projectsSupport sales engineering team in evaluating options necessary to support pursuit of business opportunitiesSupport procurement of long lead, owner furnished equipment for data center projectsPromote a responsible platform of inclusion and diversity within the Design and Development teamProvide professional assistance as requested in support of global projectsKey Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
Education/Experience: 4 year college degree required, 7 - 10 years required, 10 + years preferredA minimum of five years’ experience in managing project management teamsA minimum of ten years in design and construction project deliveryIn-depth knowledge of complex electrical, mechanical, life safety and control systems associated with critical facilities or data centersKnowledge of national and local building codesProfessional written, presentation, and customer relationship skillsThis position must be able to manage complex design programs and lead cross-organizational teamsCreating, building, and managing relationships with key suppliers, business partners, and internal customers are vital to this positionTotal travel 25%; overnight travel 25%Ability to travel internationally when requiredProfessional Engineering license is preferred, but not required#Li-Remote
