**Description:**
The Senior Project Manager, Commercial Onboarding leads the coordination, activation, and risk management of commercial workstreams for hotel openings, conversions, integrations, operator transitions, and deflaggings across Hyatt’s global portfolio.
This role acts as the commercial lead and main point of commercial contact for assigned projects, ensuring all commercial disciplines—Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, Loyalty, Digital, Distribution, Training and Technology—are integrated and aligned from pre-opening through post-opening care and ramp.
This position is execution and project management focused, managing detailed project plans, timelines, and task trackers for all assigned openings and conversions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
This position will often specialize in a portfolio of brands (Classics, Essentials, Luxury, Lifestyle, Inclusive) or specific type (opening, transition, integration).
1. Commercial Project Management for Openings, Transitions & Integrations
• Lead the commercial integration planning and execution for new hotel openings, brand transitions, portfolio integrations, and conversions.
• Manage and monitor project milestones, commercial readiness, and team accountability across all functional areas.
• Facilitate alignment and visibility across all relevant stakeholders, including commercial, development, operations, and finance.
• Maintain accurate documentation project reporting, and dashboards for leadership visibility.
2. Risk Identification, Escalation & Resolution
• Proactively identify risks to successful commercial launch, integration, or conversion—including delays, resource gaps, data integrity issues, or readiness misalignment.
• Escalate risks to the appropriate leaders with a view toward visibility, prioritization, and cross-functional resolution.
• Work with internal teams and external operators to remove blockers and ensure continuity in project execution.
3. Cross-Functional Integration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the commercial integration lead, coordinating with functional experts from Revenue, Sales, Marketing, Loyalty, Digital, Training and Technology.
• Partner with non-commercial stakeholders (e.g., Development, Legal, Finance, Operations) to ensure commercial work is synchronized with enterprise-wide opening/transition timelines.
• Engage directly with Franchise Operators and Owner groups to ensure understanding of and adherence to commercial onboarding requirements.
4. Ramp Strategy Coordination
• Monitor ramp KPIs (e.g., RevPAR Index, channel mix, group contribution) and flag early performance risks or gaps in execution.
• Oversee post opening transition to Regional Ramp Strategists, who are accountable for ramp performance strategies across Revenue, Sales, and Marketing.
5. Post-Care Commercial Support
• Lead commercial support during the post-opening ramp period, ensuring that properties receive clear, coordinated, and timely support.
• Create transparency around support contacts and issue resolution pathways.
• Capture and communicate learnings from post-opening challenges to drive improvements in future launches.
6. Deflaggings & Operator Transitions
• Lead the commercial coordination for hotel deflaggings and operator transitions, ensuring effective offboarding/onboarding of systems, contracts, tools, and resources.
• Work with internal teams and third-party operators to manage commercial shutdowns, replacements, and brand alignment where applicable.
• Ensure continuity of commercial data, guest communications, and key stakeholder updates throughout the transition period.
7. Process Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in the commercial openings and transitions process.
• Contribute to toolkits, standard operating procedures, training content, and playbooks to promote global consistency and efficiency.
• Share best practices and conduct lessons-learned reviews across project cycles.
**Qualifications:**
• Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Experience:
o 5 years of experience in commercial operations (revenue/distribution/sales/marketing), project management, or hotel openings in a global hospitality or multi-brand environment
o Experience supporting or leading commercial integration for new builds, conversions, deflaggings, or operator transitions.
o Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
o Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
o Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
o PM certification or formal project management training preferred but not required.
