Could your engineering skills help shape a greener future at sea?

ABB is seeking a Senior Project Engineer with expertise in power generation, distribution, and/or drives to join our Electrical Solutions team. You will be part of a skilled multidisciplinary group working on some of the most exciting and complex projects in the maritime industry.

We develop electric propulsion, power, and automation systems for safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly operation of various vessel types, including passenger transport, research vessels, LNG carriers, offshore wind installation ships, and aquaculture vessels. This role will primarily focus on projects using ABB’s DC distribution system: Onboard DC Grid.

The workplace will be Fornebu.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Collaborate in project teams with electrical and automation engineersWork with shipyards on deliveries for single vessels or seriesDesign systems, prepare documentation, guide customers, and conduct system studiesParticipate in factory testing and support commissioningCommunicate closely with customers, factories, R&D, and classification societies

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Power EngineeringMinimum 5 years of relevant experience (less experienced candidates are also encouraged to apply)Ability to work across disciplines and make decisions from a systems perspectiveStrong combination of practical and theoretical knowledgeFluent in English; cultural awareness and mutual respect are essentialInterest in maritime industry, power systems, and low/zero-emission technologies
