Senior Project Engineer – Carbon Capture
Location: Doha, Qatar

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to lead the detailed engineering phase of a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in large-scale industrial projects, particularly in carbon capture, petrochemical, refinery or LNG Facilities environments, and will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary engineering efforts to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions aligned with decarbonization goals.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the detailed engineering scope of a carbon capture project, ensuring alignment with environmental targets and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, civil, and instrumentation teams to develop integrated engineering solutions. Oversee the development of engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and layout drawings. Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO, API, ASME) and carbon capture-specific guidelines. Interface with technology licensors, EPC contractors, and client representatives to ensure technical integrity and project alignment. Support FEED and detailed design phases, including HAZOP reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure smooth transition from design to execution. Promote safety, sustainability, and innovation throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related discipline); Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 12 years of experience in detailed engineering for large industrial projects. Proven experience in carbon capture, refinery, or petrochemical projects is essential. Strong understanding of carbon capture technologies (e.g., amine-based absorption, membrane separation, cryogenic processes). Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks. Proficient in engineering tools and software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, AutoCAD, SmartPlant). Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
Preferred Attributes: Passion for sustainability and climate-focused engineering. Experience working with international teams and multicultural environments. Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Knowledge of lifecycle emissions analysis and carbon accounting is an advantage.
