Essential Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain Ledcor systems and procedures throughout the project durationSupport the site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program through participation in worksite inspections, the worksite observation program, safety meetings, etc Work closely with Project Management to support overall activities. Support Superintendents and Project Coordinators where needed Supervise, support and delegate tasks to Project Coordinators within the Project Team. Support with training and development of junior staffSupervise development, reviewing and updating of Workplans and Field Installation Procedures Support with Design development and working closely with Design Engineers of Record to troubleshoot issuesSupervise and support with updating and reviewing Quantity Take-offsManage systems utilized by field teams to monitor and track field installation progressSupport with Cost Tracking activities. Manage systems utilized by field teams to monitor and track installation progress related to cost performance and support Project Manager with internal Cost Reporting Assist with development and monitoring of the project schedule and tracking of project milestones and deliverables; inputs and updates schedule throughout the project and reviews with Project Manager/Superintendent Perform Inspections of construction installations to ensure work is adhering to project specification and relevant drawings. Support with development and implementation of project Inspection and Testing Procedures (ITPs) Support the request for information (RFI) process. Review and ensure RFIs are written correctly and distributed to affected trades. Ensure RFI logs and redlines are being maintainedSupport with administering the change management process by identifying and documenting contract changes. Support Project Manager with development of change notices and related cost estimatesSupport the (sub) contract management process through the tendering, technical evaluation, and awarding of work or supply materials; assistance with the review and processing of invoices and progress claims, and assistance with the review of documents and inquiries. Support with development and ongoing management of subcontractsPrepare and review purchase requisitions for approval and assist with procurement of materials and equipmentSupport the general administrative and recordkeeping functions including the review and distribution of documentation; daily reporting, preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes, tracking of project milestones and maintenance of files, logs, drawings and specificationsSupport the review, distribution, and filing of contract documents in accordance with the established project document distribution matrixSupport project close-out by preparing turnover documentsQualifications :
Professional Engineering or Technology designation is an asset5+ years of relevant work experience in the construction industryMust have experience in Civil Construction working on Heavy Civil, Infrastructure or related Industrial Projects. Experience in Earthworks and Concrete Foundations/Structures is considered an asset. Previous experience with Civil Undergrounds including duct bank construction is considered an asset. Previous experience in Rail/Track Construction is considered an assetSupervisor/Leadership experience. Must be comfortable and have experience with supporting and leading others within a project teamStrong communication skills, confidence interacting with others in verbal and written formAbility to identify problems/issues and generate solutions. Ability to make sound decisions using standard procedures. Be able to “think outside of the box” when needed to provide solutions to technical and/or constructability issuesExperience working directly with engineers of record to coordinate solutions to design and/or field constructability issues. Experience with Design-Build projects is considered an assetAble to read and understand construction documents. Must be comfortable and have experience reviewing shop drawings (including reinforcement and structural details)Scheduling experience. Must be comfortable performing, supervising and reviewing the overall Project Schedule including performing regular reviews of three-week look-ahead reporting. Experience with management of construction schedules from baseline to construction completion is considered an assetSubcontract Management experience. Experience working with Subcontractors and facilitation of Subcontracts (including scope of work and subcontract terms development, cost and change management)Cost Reporting and Performance tracking experience. Experience with project controls systems and reporting. Including supervising inputs required to general accurate cost projections and monitoring of overall performanceStrong computer background including experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam and scheduling software, such as P6 or Microsoft Project. Experience with other construction planning and management software is an asset (3D model viewers, document management systems, etc.).Must be comfortable working in both an office and field environmentExtensive experience of main construction office processes: project set up; subcontract management; change management; RFIs (request for information) and technical reviews; project closeoutCapable of probing and listening carefully, presents information clearly in an appropriate style and persuades others in straightforward situationsWillingness to contribute actively in team activities, sharing experiences and ideasMust have valid Class 5 drivers licenseWork Conditions:
