Job Description

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Architect. This position is to be based in Columbus, OH. We’re looking for a leader of design & technical excellence. One who is driven by a passion for delivering quality work, mentoring staff, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.

As a Senior Project Architect with recognized technical expertise and experience in demanding, design driven projects, you will lead interdisciplinary teams. Leveraging your industry experience and technical acumen, you will drive a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design, documentation, and construction.

You are a team leader and will have the opportunity to lead not only from a project perspective, but from a practice and culture standpoint. The right person will be an integral part of our architecture practice in the region.

US West Buildings + Places has a vast market spread and geography, providing opportunities across a wide range of project typologies, including Science & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Commercial, Aerospace, Higher Education, Industrial and Process, Transportation, Aviation, Sports and Federal market sectors across the western United States and beyond. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

In partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager, you will lead a team, or multiple teams, in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projects

Supporting the pursuit of exciting new projects

Prepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software tools

Develop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problem.

Oversee the work of more junior designers and architects

Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultant.

Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials

Provide quality control reviews of projects in the studio.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Architecture plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Licensed as a registered architect   

 Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and PowerPoint

Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures

Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environment

Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
