Essential Responsibilities:
Independently completes month-end activities including costing, reporting, analysis, and presentationsManages accounts receivable, billing uploads, reconciliations, and supports payment collectionsSupports subcontract payments, contract reviews, WCB/insurance compliance, and holdback reconciliationsCollaborates on time entry accuracy with field teams and payroll; sets up payroll per collective agreementsAssists project teams with financial forecasting, cost reporting, budgets, and variance/change order analysisEnsures adherence to financial governance, advises on commercial terms, and supports audits and documentationLeads and mentors junior project accountants; supports onboarding, training, and resource allocationActs as a subject-matter expert for financial systems; resolves system issues, implements updates, and communicates changesDrives process improvements, contributes to system and process advisory committees, and applies advanced Excel skillsQualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role with a degree or diploma in Business or related fieldSolid understanding of project accounting principles and ERP/PMIS systems; JD Edwards experience is an assetKnowledge of construction industry contracts, legal/commercial terms, and payroll legislation including union agreementsFamiliarity with equipment utilization, rate build-ups, profitability analysis, and sales taxExperience with accounts payable processes and tax complianceStrong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and OutlookExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detailAbility to multitask, prioritize, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility for travel or site transfers and a valid driver’s license are considered assetsWorking Environment:

$76,400 - $105,000 annually
This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
