As the Senior Program Operations Manager, you will act at the responsible point of contact for the products within the Fuel Cell Programs in the Maritime Value Stream of the Integrated Mission Systems business unit whose customers include the US Navy and Spanish Navy. You will be responsible for all operations activities and execution of the fuel cell programs including: 

Develop preliminary production plan 

Restart of the B10 manufacturing line 

Work with engineering on obsolescent parts including developing new in-house processes 

Help train new manufacturing/process engineers in the fuel cell manufacturing process 

Track procurement of raw materials and components 

Oversee manufacturing, assembly and test of fuel cells and power modules. 

Ensure on time delivery of end items to the customer  

What You Will Do 

Manages program deliveries to cost and schedule 

Act as internal consultant to the manager and develop short and long term strategies for the value stream 

Help coordinate continuous improvement activities to improve support processes 

Develops recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement opportunities to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness 

Develop plans, schedules, and budgets for improvement projects  

Lead make/buy transition efforts within value stream 

Facilitates and directs scheduling activities to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of facilities and manpower 

Interface with program management and functional organizations to understand customer needs and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of service 

Identifies issues with cell performance and productivity and develops action plans to maximize these 

Routinely present program status and overview to executives and customers 

Oversees production operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management), maintenance, plant engineering, manufacturing, test engineering, scheduling and quality personnel 

Manages and supervises the work of manufacturing production disciplines in the Operations function 

Ensures quality of hardware requirements are met upon delivery to the customer 

Performs professional or management work regularly across multiple manufacturing disciplines 

 Expected travel 25% 

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience 

Prior experience in an Operations organization or in interfacing with Operations organization on a recurring basis 

Experience in financial, manufacturing, material planning, Earned Value Management 

Strong analytical skills required for accurate material and manufacturing planning systems and government programs are key traits 

Experience working MRP systems 

Drive Continuous Improvement projects - CORE, 6 Sigma and other Lean Manufacturing processes 

Customer relationship management experience 

Microsoft Project Skills 

Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment 

Experience with Cost Account Management 

Qualifications We Prefer

Lean manufacturing experience preferred  

Experience working in SAP systems 

Strong computer skills using MS Project, and MS Office products is highly desired 

Proactive mindset with ability to strategically mitigate risk and find opportunities 

Robust verbal and written communication skills and be a self-starter able to operate independently with no oversight

Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
