Senior Program Manager (Title Management)
Job Description The Technical Program Manager will be an integral part of the Content Production and Distribution Global Program Management team. This is a contractor position within the DEEP&T Global Program Management Organization. The Technical Program Manager will drive and lead the execution of complex initiatives within the Rights Management and Content Avails space. We support our business partners in Content Sales at Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) streaming services. Rights Management is the practice of defining and managing the rights associated with media content, including who can use the content, in what format, where, when, and under what conditions. It ensures legal compliance, protects intellectual property, and enables content monetization across various channels. The Avails team oversees the strategy, development and optimization of systems and platforms in the content availability supply chain that distributes Disney content across various channels (e.g. streaming services, digital storefronts, affiliates). The content availability supply chain ensures that content distribution complies with licensing agreements, usage rights and restrictions managed in Digital Rights Management systems. The Rights Management and Content Platform Avails ecosystem is composed of several interconnected apps and platforms. Our primary Rights Management product is Rightsline and experience with this SaaS solution is preferred. Key capabilities include but are not limited to rights clearance, transactional offers, licensing, distribution rights-in and rights-out, opportunity reporting, and holdbacks. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for facilitating all aspects in the launch of new products, and enhancements to existing products from kickoffs through deployment to closure. The ideal candidate is data-oriented, organized, adaptive, self-starter, and non-dogmatic when it comes to operational agility. In addition, the candidate will collaborate with Product and Engineering Teams to become well-versed enough to be conversant and report out status of enhancements, description and business value of enhancement. Successful candidates must be highly proactive, detail-oriented, and able to autonomously work on concurrent implementations across matrixed teams both inside and outside the DEEP&T organization. Demonstrates exceptional skill in organizing tasks and information, readily adapts to changing circumstances, and shows remarkable flexibility in employing diverse methods and processes to enhance team efficiency with a focus on solutions that best serve the team. They should be skilled in managing multiple large project teams of 20+ cross-functional individuals and should possess the conventional capabilities of a scrum master, project & program manager, a servant-leader, and above all else, a team contributor. They must be capable of clearly communicating schedules, risks, issues, and processes to a variety of business, creative, and technical and executive audiences. They must be able to partner with other program managers and technical leads outside their area to coordinate work, deliverables, and schedules. Success in fast-paced, collaborative settings and attention to detail are essential. Skills and Requirements • A minimum of 6+ years of experience in technical program management and software application development. • Experience working with metadata and title management platforms • Experience establishing best practices and roadmaps • Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Lead for cross-functional agile teams. • Working knowledge of Jira/Confluence supporting agile methodologies. • Experience with the software development life cycle. • Desire to learn and take on additional responsibilities as appropriate. • Anticipate working with teams on East or West Coast hours, with flexibility to work outside of regular office hours to accommodate important meetings in different time zones. • Technical knowledge of architecture and development practices. • Advanced knowledge of tools including Atlassian Suite (JIRA/Confluence), Airtable and or Smartsheets. • Established experience with digital supply chain systems that support content operation functions (e.g., title origination, title management, metadata management).
