Senior Program Manager / Project Director, Power and Underground Storage (UGS)
This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Senior Program Manager / Project Director** to lead and manage large, complex projects within the Power and UGS sector. This role involves driving strategic initiatives, overseeing project execution, and fostering strong client relationships to achieve business goals. The ideal candidate will use expertise in Power, UGS and business acumen to contribute to the growth and success of the energy practice. + Lead and direct the successful execution of large, complex projects within the UGS power and energy sector. + Support the leadership team in managing the UGS project portfolio, including strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, performance monitoring, risk management, and financial oversight. + Contribute to business development efforts, cultivating key client relationships and driving cross-selling activities across various business lines to ensure a robust project backlog. + Mentor and support Program/Project Managers in the successful execution of major energy projects, focusing on project status, performance, profitability, and client engagement. + Guide Program/Project Managers in developing comprehensive project management plans, including program controls (cost and schedule), risk mitigation strategies, safety protocols, quality assurance, and environmental compliance measures. + Champion staff development initiatives, providing mentorship, training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to cultivate a high-performing team. + Innovate and challenge conventional approaches to client and employee engagement, seeking new ways to drive collaboration and efficiency. + Serve as a trusted advisor to clients as Owner’s Representative, Delivery Partner, or Independent PMO, ensuring project success and client satisfaction. + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Who You Are **Required Qualifications** + Extensive knowledge of the Power and UGS sectors in the US, including key stakeholders and market trends. + 15+ years of project management experience. + Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or a related field. + A proven track record of successfully delivering multiple projects under diverse contractual arrangements. + Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with top-tier industry clients, understand their contractual and technical requirements, and develop tailored solutions. + Strong business acumen, including a deep understanding of financial parameters, P&L drivers, and the ability to enhance key performance indicators (KPIs). + Established and robust client relationships and industry contacts within the local market, with the ability to lead and win pursuits and proposals. + Proven experience in leading responses to major Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and developing winning proposals for Power and UGS projects and related business lines. + A strong commitment to internal and external client service, fostering trust and delivering exceptional value. + Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and effectively manage stakeholders. + Proficiency in relevant project management software and tools. + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. **Preferred Qualifications** + Master's degree in engineering, business, or a related field. + Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification. + 25+ years of project management experience. **About WSP** WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
