The English Language Learning (ELL) division of Pearson is a complex, international business, dedicated to helping people around the world achieve their dreams through learning and verifying English skills. We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, ambitious programme manager who is comfortable taking on a portfolio of our most complex programmes to ensure they are driven to completion, alongside driving general programme management expertise within the division.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Programme Manager, you will own the execution of our most complex and critical strategic programmes, alongside developing programme management best practice in the division.
We have many strategic initiatives in place that, if executed correctly, will simplify our operations, accelerate our growth, modernise our systems, and improve our profitability. However, there are many interdependencies and complexities that risk slowing us down if not managed correctly. You will be responsible for ensuring these programmes stay on track, flagging and resolving risks and managing stakeholders.
In addition to managing strategic programmes, you will help drive ELL’s approach to programme management, bringing best practice and new tools and techniques from your experience to drive excellence at Pearson.
What you’ll do
Own end-to-end delivery of complex, strategic programmesAdjust milestones and expectations to adapt to changing priorities while still driving execution and ensuring that high standards of performance are metDevelop relationships with key stakeholders throughout the business to ensure smooth programme operationsForm an understanding of key dependencies, unblocking where necessary and monitoring where risks are developingManage milestone and KPI reportingDevelop best practice for programme management for the division, including where necessary developing tools, dashboards, and visualisationDrive use cases for AI for programme management within the division
What you’ll bring
At least 3 years of experience of end-to-end programme management within large corporate environments, ideally involving multiple functions and / or stakeholder groups, and at least 7 years of corporate career experience
Ability to be incredibly self-directed, and a willingness to dig to find the right information and stakeholders
A creative and ambitious approach to problem-solving
An ability to influence across different teams and specialties to get things done, with strong communication skills across sales, tech, product, marketing, comms and legal
Fluency in English
Project or programme management qualifications are preferred

This is a full-time and remote role based in Mexico. Occasional travel may be required to attend workshops or meetings.
This role reports to the Director of Operations & Governance, who is in charge of strategy execution within ELL, and also gives the opportunity to get involved in other initiatives within ELL that aim to improve our operations & governance.
