Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Level Program Manager to lead a large Army acquisition radar program from design concepts through prototype production and developmental testing.  The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and program execution experience to lead the program from initial design concepts and prototype production all the way to a Milestone C decision.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day management of a large Army acquisition program

Coordinate and oversee project activities, ensuring they align with program goals and objectives.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.

Monitor program performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.

Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including DoD clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Support the development and execution of risk management plans.

Prepare and present program status reports and briefings to senior management and DoD clients.

Ensure compliance with DoD regulations, policies, and procedures.

Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the program team.

Basic Qualifications  

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university plus a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the defense industry or Masters with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience in the defense industry.

Proven experience in prototype development, test and support equipment development and operations and maintenance.

Strong technical background, with knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles.

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage complex projects, multitask, and prioritize effectively.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of professionals.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Experience in risk management, including the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to the project.

Experience working with government contracts and regulations.

Must be a US citizen possess and be able to maintain an active Secret security clearance.

Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on a DoD acquisition program

Experience leading a team to Milestone C decision

Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to work independently at times due to fast-paced and highly productive work environment

Experience working on a radar program.

Background in engineering

Previous military experience

Ability to create design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation

Extensive understanding of defense acquisition process.

Pay Range:Pay Range $134,550.00 - $243,225.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
