We're seeking a forward-thinking Senior Test Engineer at our Fire Safety R&D team, based in Parsippany, New Jersey. The Senior Test Engineer will structure and perform testing activities for our product compliance with UL standards.

We are looking for a hands-on laboratory Sr Product Test engineer. This position will be based out of Parsippany, NJ.

You'll make a difference by:

Conduct physical testing and validation of fire detection and alarm systems, ensuring their reliability and compliance with rigorous safety standards.  Executing comprehensive physical testing programs for fire safety products, including environmental, electrical safety, and durability testing in collaboration with UL, Factory Mutual (FM) and other regulatory agencies. Conducting laboratory evaluations of product construction, materials, and operational integrity under various environmental conditions. Leading hands-on testing activities and mentoring laboratory technicians in proper test procedures and equipment operation. Serving as the technical expert for physical and operational product compliance, bridging the gap between development teams and regulatory agencies. Designing and implementing test methodologies to validate product reliability, focusing on hardware performance and physical integrity. Your expertise will ensure the reliability and compliance of critical life-safety systems through rigorous physical testing and validation.  Your expertise will contribute to the safety and well-being of communities worldwide, as you help us set new benchmarks in the industry and drive innovation in life-saving technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate degree in industrial, electrical, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution 5+ years of hands-on experience testing regulated electronic/electrical products in a laboratory environment. Direct experience with construction evaluation and physical testing of life safety equipment. Communication skill to articulate findings/results for peer and management review Eligibility to work in the U.S. without the need for company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in industrial, electrical, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution Proven expertise in operating environmental chambers, electrical safety analyzers, and physical test equipment. Hands-on experience conducting UL CTDP physical compliance testing for fire alarm equipment. Experience leading laboratory operations and test programs. Practical knowledge of UL864, UL268, ULC-S527, UL2572, ULC-S576, UL2610 and other related standards, particularly regarding physical construction, electrical safety, and environmental requirements. Strong background in failure analysis of electronic/electrical components and mechanical assemblies. Demonstrated expertise in environmental testing, including temperature, humidity, and vibration testing. Commitment to product safety and quality, with extensive experience in physical inspection and validation techniques. Vision to advance Siemens' position in fire safety equipment testing and certification. Ability to lead a team by defining schedules/tasks to meet regulatory requirements and market packages timelines

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
