Senior Product Repair/Mod Technician

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Repair/Modification Technician to support the CCTS – Operations team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.  

This role will have a heavy focus on electro-mechanical skills to include an emphasis on wire harness routing & repair, installation of ESD components, electrical grounding & testing, and test instrumentation installation.

Position Responsibilities:

Performs assigned duties as an individual or as a member of a cross-functional High-Performance Work TeamOperates computing equipment to access job information (e.g., drawings, specifications and other online information systems)Uses various types of power tools, hand tools, and torque toolsMeets customer satisfaction requirements for quality, performance and reliabilityPerforms all elements of assembly from detailed work instructions, including reworks and repairsMaintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft electrical components of moderate difficultyApplies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting user documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manualsElectro-mechanical skills include wire harness routing, wire harness repair, installation of ESD components, electrical bonding, electrical grounding, heater bonding, system testing, and installation of test instrumentation such as strain gauges, accelerometers, thermal couples, resistance temperature devices, and pressure transducersPossess general shop skills including Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements, ESD, and contamination control of precision clean systems

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

5+ years’ experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and procedures5+ years’ experience reading and understanding basic engineering drawings and specificationsExperience in the use and operation of dimensional measurements equipmentPrevious experience loading or deserving spacecraft commodities and use of Self Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble (SCAPE) Previous experience with wireExperience conducting wire harness routing & repair, as well as wire harness installation testing to include di-electric withstanding insulation, insulation resistance, and continuity   The ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds within an 8-hour shiftBasic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work any shift, as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

10+ years’ experience in electro-mechanical assembly and functionsAssociates degree in electronics, science or in a general technical fieldExperience with instrumentation calibration and use

Additional Information:

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Shift:

This role will be on 1st shift, following a 9/80 schedule. As business conditions change, the selected candidate should be able to work any shift as needed.

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $70,550 – $95,450 USD
