Senior Product Engineer - Footwear, ACG/Running

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As a member of the ACG/Running Team, you will collaborate with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Product Development, Innovation team, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing, Business Ops, Value Engineering and our Asia partners– both within NIKE and external to NIKE. You will need to navigate the NIKE matrix to ensure that our processes model and match NIKE Footwear Engineering divisional and functional standards and methodologies driving product excellence. You will be the key point of contact for our Asia teammates and ensure that communication during the product development and manufacturing process is clear and accurate.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Senior Footwear Product Engineer. We seek a self-motivated, quick learner, a strong communicator, with great self-awareness and leadership skills. The idea candidate is a team player, has footwear product experience and can utilize tools and system to ensure product excellence from concept through manufacturing.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and trainingA minimum of 4 years directly relevant work experienceProficient in reading technical drawings, specs, design sketches and/or 3D digital files and link them together as a system approach to identify potential problems and/or challenges and provide complete problem solving/options and solutionsKnowledge of lasts, footwear pattern engineering, tooling, material and manufacturing process highly preferredAbility to identify & drive valuable engineering solutions from the conceptual stage all the way to manufacturingCreative problem-solving skillsProject management skills, working with various stakeholders with competing prioritiesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches and/or 3D digital filesDigital literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, Miro Board, spreadsheets, database management, and proficiency with 2D/3D CAD/CAM tools, and pattern engineering software, is a plusValue differences and be able to work across cultures while navigating NIKE’s organizational matrixAbility to travel up to 10-20% of the time

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

This role works on product creation, from brief through commercialization on performance products. You will provide early recommendations and technical expertise to cross-functional teams on product construction techniques, materials, manufacturing processes, tooling, sustainability, cost, and engineering solutions (processes, lab testing, MCS, MPS, etc.). You'll focus on product excellence that ultimately drives and supports product performance, quality, craftsmanship, and efficiency.

Other responsibilities may include:

Reviewing samples and Tech Packs (Physical and Digital-Technical Drawings and 3D files) on each development gate from development through commercialization and manufacturing.Troubleshooting issues in development and production, as raised by wear testing, PI, etc.Establish, implement and document new standardsSupport costing initiatives throughout developmentLead cross-category initiatives and leverage dimension, functional, and technical knowledge to influence the product and process of developing and manufacturing footwear.
