Senior Product Designer
**As a Senior Product Designer, you have the opportunity to** **Join a winning cross-competence Design team that is well integrated and recognized in the Philips Personal Health Grooming and Beauty (G&B) business. The Senior Product Designer role is considered key in the development of Grooming and Beauty propositions. In this role you will:** + Lead the creation and translation of concepts into product designs from sketches, to draft volume models, development of CAD files leading into engineering and feasibility checks and implementation. + Create user focused strategies, innovations and experiences leveraging user testing and validation, considering usability, sustainability and appropriate visual and verbal articulation in line with Design Language System and Brand guidelines. + Drive operational excellence and efficiency, delivering appropriate design quality within budget and project parameters. + Be partnering and co creating with internal and external stakeholders, with clear and impactful communication and articulation of design decision-making. + Drive solution creation within a cross-competence project team, thinking holistically in eco-systems. + Challenge the status quo to inspire innovation and a step-up in value towards the user. **You are responsible for** Delivering required product design inputs to all development phases like value proposition creation, advanced development, platform creation and product development. Within the Design team, you can also find yourself working on Design Strategies, Portfolio frameworks and Business specific Design Language Systems. In this context Product Designer responsibilities include: + Independently lead projects with good understanding of budget and time constraints, driving efficiency and holding project level design quality reviews. + Driving user centered design approach including analysis, exploration, storytelling, concept design, prototyping, evaluative testing and implementation. + Creative leading in Grooming & Beauty for product design, driving E2E user experience from both design- and innovation perspective + Translate customer needs, research findings and business requirements into compelling, efficient and highly usable designs. + You use appropriate and effective analytical and conceptual skills to increase domain knowledge and to create meaningful and innovative solutions. **To succeed in this role** You need a consumer first attitude, end-to-end experience mindset and meet the following criteria: + You have a Bachelor or Master Degree level in product or product-interaction design. + You have 5-10 years’ of relevant experience in one or more relevant business domains and in one or more markets and cultures. + You are a ‘T-shaped’ Product Designer with excellent product design skills, a broad interest in Product, UX and user interaction design and curiosity for new technologies. + You have good analytical & conceptual skills to increase domain knowledge, create relevant insights leading to meaningful and innovative solutions that appropriately address user-needs. + You have worked in multidisciplinary teams and partnered with specialists in digital and communication design in order to develop fully integrated new propositions from start to end. + You have experience in leading product design processes from idea all the way to the technical realization. + You have experience in designing small or stand-alone electronic devices (preferred) product and service combinations is a plus. + You are able to create effective visual languages and understand the meaning and effect of these on the brand, audience, market and culture. + You have a professional, ambitious and collaborative mindset. + You are continuously aware of current trends through fashion, art, design, and digital related products through market research. + You have a strong narrative ability in verbal and written communication. + Showing excellent 2D and 3D design skills, including hand and digital sketching and Rhino or Cero. + You communicate fluently in Chinese (Mandarin) and have proficient English speaking and writing skills. **This role offers the following perspectives** We distinguish two main career tracks. That of the content expert, while collaborating in teams you specialize in the craft of product design. And that of the orchestrator, connecting the experience and visual identity across the different projects and driving the creative output of the team. This track may lead to an Experience Lead role or ultimately that of a Design Business Partner (Design Leader). **How we work together** We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 4 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
