**The Opportunity**
We are seeking a **Senior Procurement Specialist – Professional Services** to join our Regional Category team within the Global Procurement Services (GPS) division. This role can be based in either **Abbott Park, IL** or **Chicago, IL** .
As a key member of Abbott’s global procurement organization, you will help drive the **“One Abbott Procurement”** vision—delivering strategic value, fostering cross-divisional synergies, and enabling cost-effective, compliant solutions. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across functions to develop and execute impactful sourcing strategies that support business goals.
**What You’ll Work On**
+ Serve as a **subject matter expert** in Professional Services procurement, with deep knowledge of category strategies and supplier capabilities.
+ Act as a **category lead** , with a strong understanding of business needs and supplier landscapes.
+ Implement category strategies in alignment with Global Category Strategy guidance.
+ Lead and support **contract negotiations** , ensuring optimal value and risk mitigation.
+ Conduct supplier research, value analysis, and cost evaluations to drive informed sourcing decisions.
+ Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Ethics & Compliance, and other internal partners to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand needs and align on sourcing strategies.
+ Identify and engage with **diverse suppliers** , supporting Abbott’s commitment to supplier diversity.
+ Support the execution of sourcing strategies and initiatives.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in **Business, Marketing, Logistics, Engineering, Finance** , or a related field.
+ Minimum **4 years of procurement experience** , preferably in professional services or indirect categories.
+ Strong **negotiation and strategic sourcing** skills.
+ Proven ability to **influence and collaborate** across functions and levels.
+ Experience in **supplier management** and **contract negotiation** .
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 2+ years of functional experience in **Procurement, Supply Chain** , or a related field.
+ Strong **project management** and **problem-solving** skills.
+ Proficiency in **Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint** .
+ Experience with **ERP systems** (e.g., Ariba) and data governance tools.
+ Excellent **written and verbal communication** skills.

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
