Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process analysis and design efforts in support of a major software application redesign. This role will work closely with product managers, UX designers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure the redesigned system meets functional goals, improves usability, and supports efficient workflows. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of process engineering, systems thinking, and software development lifecycle expertise.

Roles and Responsibilities

Analyze existing application workflows, user interactions, and system behaviors to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and improvement opportunities.Partner with cross-functional teams to re-engineer business processes aligned with application redesign goals (e.g., usability, scalability, performance).Translate business and user requirements into optimized workflows and process maps using standardized modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN, UML).Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews to elicit feedback, define process changes, and validate redesign concepts.Define end-to-end future state process models and collaborate with development teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.Support UX/UI teams with process insights to enhance usability and consistency in interface design.Develop KPIs and success criteria for process performance in the redesigned system.Assist in change management planning including training, documentation, and stakeholder communications related to process and workflow changes.Ensure all redesigned processes comply with relevant security, regulatory, and operational standards.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or 8 years equivalent experience in lieu of a degree).5+ years of experience in process engineering or business analysis, with at least 2 years supporting software design/redesign initiatives.Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and application architecture fundamentals.Proficiency in process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Bizagi) and techniques (e.g., BPMN, SIPOC, Value Stream Mapping).Demonstrated experience working on application redesigns or system modernization projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with enterprise-level or customer-facing software applications.Familiarity with usability principles and UX/UI design processes.Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or Agile/Scrum certifications.Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, government, finance) is a plus.Strong analytical and systems thinking skills.Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.Ability to build consensus across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Self-starter with a proactive and results-driven mindset.

Work Location:   Remote

Compensation:  $106,500 - $159,800.  The salary range posted is based on the national average.  The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
