(Senior) Principle Statistical Advisor - HTA and Market Access
**The Position** Biostatistics and Data Sciences (BDS) is a global organization with more than 500 employees within the Human Pharma Business Unit. Working in close collaboration with other functions at Boehringer Ingelheim and external vendors we combine methodological and technical data science skills with business and scientific expertise to drive smart, timely and confident decision making at every stage of drug development, approval, and access. Join our function Therapeutic Area and Methodology (TAM) Statistics and become part of our global methodology group. Drive user-centric innovations to foster holistic evidence implementation and their accessibility to our business by providing consultancy and solutions to our clinical development teams. **Tasks & responsibilities** + In your new role, you will closely collaborate with other statisticians and provide statistical-methodological expertise on multiple of the following topics: + integration of external data into clinical development and HTA reports, e.g. via usage of Bayesian borrowing and external control + complex evidence synthesis including Bayesian network meta-analysis + patient-focused drug development including clinical endpoint development and psychometric validation of instruments + clinical trial design that enables RCT generalizability to real world populations and settings, for example, pragmatic trial and flexible augmented clinical trial for improved evidence generation (FACTIVE) + target trial emulation, causal inference and real world evidence methodology + Advanced statistical methods will be evaluated by you to foster holistic evidence generation, with a focus on prototyping and developing ready-to-use toolkits. Additionally, you will take the lead in driving their implementation. + Contributing to the large-scale implementation of these innovative toolkits will be one of your key responsibilities. + Pragmatic solutions will be offered by you to our clinical development teams, enabling holistic evidence generation that addresses the needs of various stakeholders, including internal decision-making, regulatory requirements, market access, and medical affairs. + The application of complex statistical concepts will be presented and quantitatively illustrated by you to stakeholders such as management, external partners, and regulatory agencies. + Moreover, statistical-methodological trainings will be delivered by you to both statisticians and non-statisticians.Additionally, you will mentor and guide other colleagues. You will define and supervise the technical and scientific work of interns and students and contribute to their professional journey. **Additional tasks for Senior Principal TAM Statistician** + As Senior Principal TAM Statistician you will identify upcoming trends and requirements in the areas mentioned above. + You will initiate collaborations with other colleagues. + Planning or supporting the organization of respective trainings and mentoring sessions will fall under your responsibilities. + Internal and/or external working groups will be led by you, ensuring effective coordination and progress. **Requirements** + Master of Science (MSc) or Doctoral Degree (PhD) from an accredited institution, in Statistics or Mathematics or related field (Psychology, Data Science, Finance, etc.). + Several years of experience as a statistician or data scientist in an area relevant for the specific role + Advanced understanding of clinical development + Demonstrated, hand-on experience in providing consultation to clinical development teams or planning and conducting experimental designs + A proven track record in successfully developing, extending, implementing, and providing training on complex and innovative statistical methodologies and concepts + Advanced scientific background in at least one of the topics mentioned above + Proficiency in statistical software languages (preferably R) to implement statistical concepts + Good interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to both: challenge and be challenged. + Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and in global teams + Fluency in written and spoken English **Additional requirements for Senior Principal TAM Statistician** + Long term years of experience as a statistician or data scientist in an area relevant for the specific role. + Extensive understanding of clinical development + In-depth knowledge in more than two of the topics mentioned above + Experience in leading a team. **Ready to contact us?** If you have any questions about the job posting or process - please contact our HR Direct Team, Tel: +49 (0) 6132 77-3330 or via mail: hr.de@boehringer-ingelheim.com **Recruitment process:** Step 1: Online application - The job posting is presumably online until September 1st, 2025.
