Collins Aerospace is looking for a **Senior Principal Engineer** , disciplined in Software Engineering, to join our Avionics Test Engineering Computing and Networking team. In this role, the ideal candidate will be leading the software development of applications for multiple projects that provide avionics test solutions to our factories, service centers, and external customers. You will collaborate with engineers from several disciplines, including electrical, project, mechanical, hardware design, and systems engineers. You will also be guiding a team of talented engineers, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The ability to train, instruct and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities are essential skills for this position.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO:**
+ **Technical Leadership** - Provide technical leadership to a wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers through all phases of the test software development lifecycle including requirements capture, design and dry coding, integrating with hardware and software components, software validation and verification.
+ **Process Leadership** – Help develop and implement new and improved processes for the software engineering discipline within Avionics Test Engineering.

+ **Technical Expertise** : You will enhance your technical expertise by mentoring a team of software engineers working across a portfolio of up to 15 projects. **QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:**
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience _or_ an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience _or_ in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
+ Experience in writing software requirements, software design and implementation, functional and integration testing, writing test cases and test procedures, and software delivery support.
+ Experience with ARINC standards such as ARINC 429, ARINC 664 and ARINC 661.
+ C# programming experience.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead a team through the full software development cycle in a regulated industry, preferably with experience in avionics software projects.
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
+ Ability to identify complex problems using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve complex issues and mitigate risks.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
