Your skills could be critical in helping our teams accelerate progress. **Position Overview:** The Genomic Medicine Unit at Sanofi is seeking a dynamic and visionary Scientist to join our team focused on Ocular Genomic Medicines. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of ophthalmic therapeutics by pioneering advancements in gene therapy, gene editing, and RNA-based technologies. In this role, you will provide scientific leadership and strategic direction to drive the development of Sanofi’s Ophthalmology pipeline. You will work collaboratively across cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative therapeutic strategies, translating cutting-edge genomic medicine platforms into clinical solutions. Ready to get started? **Main Responsibilities:** + Lead programs evaluating novel AAV capsids for targeted ocular delivery and disease applications. + Drive the implementation of gene editing platforms for ocular indications. + Oversee research on the delivery of therapeutic microRNAs, siRNAs, and ASOs for ocular diseases. + Develop and refine gene regulation strategies tailored to ocular applications. + Assess the therapeutic potential of genomic medicines in relevant ocular disease models. + Enable translation from in vitro/in vivo POC studies to therapeutic disease programs for preclinical & clinical development. + Contribute to interdisciplinary genomic medicine programs in a highly collaborative and matrixed manner across internal groups and with external partners. + Manage highly functional teams + Represent Sanofi at external scientific meetings + Lead the writing of patents and publications + Participate actively in external collaborations **About You** **Qualifications:** + Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field with at least 8 years’ relevant experience. + Proven track record in ocular and/or genomic medicine translational sciences. + Comprehensive experience with biochemistry, cellular biology, and molecular biology. + Experience in translating programs through development to IND filing a plus. + Experience leading scientific teams and managing complex translational programs. + Deep understanding of AAV gene therapy, gene editing, and RNA-based therapeutics. + Strong publication record and ability to communicate scientific vision effectively. + Demonstrated excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with scientists and with non-scientists **Why Choose Us?** + Bring the miracles of science to life alongside a supportive, future-focused team.​​ + Discover endless opportunities to grow your talent and drive your career, whether it’s through a promotion or lateral move, at home or internationally.​​ + Enjoy a thoughtful, well-crafted rewards package that recognizes your contribution and amplifies your impact.​​ + Take good care of yourself and your family, with a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits including high-quality healthcare, prevention and wellness programs and at least 14 weeks’ gender-neutral parental leave.​ Sanofi Inc. and its U.S. affiliates are Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employers committed to a culturally diverse workforce.
