Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our efforts in developing next-generation capabilities for the UH-60M Black Hawk program, supporting both U.S. Army and international customers.
This is a key technical leadership role focused on software systems architecture, avionics integration, and collaboration across cross-functional engineering teams.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Architect software requirements using simulations and subsystem interfacing, applying deep knowledge of avionic applications.
+ Lead Change Control Board (CCB) activities to manage engineering changes and system updates.
+ Drive and support technical input for bids and proposals.
+ Collaborate in all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including:
+ Requirements analysis and capture
+ System and subsystem design
+ Software requirements definition
+ Integration and formal verification testing
+ Work closely with systems and software engineers, following Collins Aerospace engineering standards and processes.
+ Lead discussions with customers alongside program chiefs and systems architects.
+ Travel occasionally to customer sites, domestically and internationally (less than 10%).
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
+ Proven experience as a technical lead or system architect on complex engineering programs.
+ Experience within the aerospace or defense industry.
+ Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
+ Experience delivering meeting project schedules.
+ Familiarity with system engineering processes and tools
**Qualifications We Prefer:**
+ Strong self-motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
+ Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
+ Experience with avionics product certification.
+ Proficiency with tools such as SVN, DOORS, Cameo, and Atlassian.
+ Understanding of CMMI or DO-178 derived development processes.
+ Technical knowledge in one or more of the following:
+ Flight displays, communication and navigation systems, flight management, mission equipment
+ Human factors and human-machine interface (HMI) design
+ Experience with data communication protocols such as:
+ Ethernet (IEEE 802.3), TCP/IP, MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429
+ Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and practices

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
