The PepsiCo North America (NA) Sustainability team develops strategies and executes programs to deliver productivity and meet goals in climate/greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, water usage, recycling, and many other areas. You can feel good about doing great in your career while also doing good for the company and planet. This is a high profile and impactful role within overall NA pep+ activities. The role is responsible for designing and implementing greenhouse gas reduction engineering projects at our manufacturing plants. The key program elements include emissions reduction through heat recovery and heat pumping, energy efficiency improvement, and driving field capability & performance. The role will develop and implement plans against defined program goals, devise approaches and in-depth execution plans. Additionally, this role will work with cross functional teams such as quality, process engineering, R&D and safety to ensure projects and programs developed provide the best path for PepsiCo. While this role may initially be focused within our beverage business, there will also be responsibilities for collaborating with and/or supporting our foods business. Responsibilities Develop and implement capital projects to reduce GHG emissions and improve energy efficiency in internal manufacturing plants, with an initial focus on beverages. Collaborate with leadership, cross-functional and global partners to identify and optimize solutions, technologies, and approaches to deliver the climate targets. Ensure execution of identified technology and other initiatives to deliver year-over year climate program progress per the 2030 glidepath; mix of internal team-led projects and partnership with Engineering and Field for others. Drive and own field performance for fuel usage & energy efficiency, including developing/leveraging standards & scorecards, identifying performance gaps, identifying site and national tactics, driving & coaching field teams to close gaps & improve usage and efficiency performance. Includes training and coaching of field operations to build capability and optimize daily operation. Develop and maintain technology pipeline of advantaged solutions to deliver climate impact at improved cost, impact, and operational robustness vs current solutions. Drive pep+ messaging and collaborate with external partners to enhance sustainability culture and engagement through development of communications, events, and programs to highlight activities and wins, and engage sites and suppliers Support & lead Manufacturing sustainability field capability efforts in the sector – ReCon Maturity, Training, Culture/Green Teams, Region Vertical Teams, etc. Work closely with Analytics and Digitalization leads to develop tools and methods which advance our visibility and understanding of overall sustainability performance and opportunities. Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $118,700 - $198,800. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering Proficient in AutoCAD drafting software This is a design engineering role. Candidates should be proficient in designing mechanical systems: pump and pipe sizing, understanding of thermodynamics, refrigeration systems, cooling towers and heat exchangers. Professional Engineering license is preferred Proficient in developing construction drawings and specifications for bid and requests for proposals. Excellent communication skills, including ability to convey technical presentations to non-technical audiences and senior leaders Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross functionally, develop and sell ideas to internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated project management experience, including financial responsibility, budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, execution and startup/commissioning Able to work well in a dynamic cross functional and matrixed team environment, coordinate team activities with minimum direct supervision.
