TotalEnergies Gas and Power North America (TGPNA) is TotalEnergies’ US trading affiliate, engaged in marketing and trading, transportation, storage, export, and other commercial acitvities to support the Company’s US energy portfolio. The portfolio primarily includes Natural gas and Natural Gas Liquids, a fast-growing Power segment, and Environmental Products, which are all crucial to TotalEnergies’ global integrated strategy.
Electricity is the energy of the 21st century. To answer responsibly, TotalEnergies is investing massively in solar and wind generation in order to become one of the global top five producers of renewable energy by 2030. The Company is developing a portfolio of assets and operations across the electricity value chain to ensure that electricity accounts for 40% of its sales mix by 2050.
US electricity markets are among the key priorities of the Company and of its Gas, Renewable and Power (GRP) branch, correlating with its very well developed legacy businesses around gas and liquids. Their heterogeneity and complexities require an intimate knowledge of the US Power markets but also an excellent understanding of risk, position management and compliance with delegations of authorities.
GRP is the critical market access point for the Company, providing a number of commercial solutions and support, including structuring, risk management, general and specific market expertise, and direct access to a broad customer network. The US Trading Origination Team, which operates within the Trading Energy Management arm of GRP and within the fast-evolving and competitive US energy markets, is deeply involved in all of these activities, helping achieve TotalEnergies’s strategy to be a multi-energy company prioritizing energies of the future.
