Senior Planning Engineer

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or equivalent in an Engineering discipline. PMP certification or equivalent professional credentials is preferred. Membership in recognized engineering or project management bodies is an advantage.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 15 years of experience in project planning for offshore Oil & Gas projects. At least 5 years of experience with National Oil Companies (NOCs) or International Oil Companies (IOCs) is preferred. Proven expertise in: Project planning, scheduling, and phasing. Project control and performance monitoring. Forecasting, trending, and risk assessment. Variations and claims analysis. Progress verification and reporting. Proficiency in Primavera (P6) and MS Office Suite is essential. Experience with Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI is highly desirable. Prior work experience in the GCC region is considered an asset. Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Lifecycle Management Lead comprehensive planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting activities from project initiation to close-out. Develop and maintain Project Master Plans and Schedules across all phases and stage gates. Provide planning input for key project deliverables including: Project Execution Plan (PEP) Risk Management Plan & Risk Register Change Management Plan Support project close-out activities and contribute to the Project Close-out Report. Monitoring & Reporting Generate and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports. Maintain Project Builder data in SAP for group-level reporting and analysis. Provide early warning indicators and recommend proactive interventions to improve project outcomes. Resource Planning Maintain and update the Integrated Resource Planning System to ensure resource requirements align with project master plans in Primavera. Tendering & Bid Evaluation Develop planning and scheduling requirements for inclusion in tender documents, including: Progress measurement and reporting instructions. Appendices for administration and contract execution. Participate in technical bid evaluations, focusing on: Schedule analysis Man-hour allocations Resource histograms Progress measurement methodologies Compliance with planning and reporting standards Contractor Oversight Review and endorse contractor-submitted planning packages including: Execution programs Recovery plans Resource plans Progress measurement systems Monitor contractor performance and conduct variance analysis. Validate contractor progress reports and recommend corrective actions as needed. Conduct schedule risk analysis and “what-if” scenarios to anticipate and mitigate potential delays. Progress & Budgeting Estimate monthly progress for all assigned contracts to support Service Entry Sheet (SES) generation. Verify reported progress in coordination with stakeholders. Provide schedule inputs for Annual Budget/AFE preparation, revisions, and supplementary budgets. Analyze schedule variances and contribute to budget variance reporting. Change Management & Claims Assess time impacts of scope changes and review Extension of Time (EoT) claims using international standards and time impact analysis techniques. Governance & Compliance Contribute to the development and implementation of Project Planning Procedures and Work Instructions. Operate within the framework of integrated Project Control & Services, corporate policies, and industry standards.
